Each chakra that is located in our body correlates to specific endocrine gland and organ. The Solar Plexus chakra control and energize the gastrointestinal system. When it is out of balance an ailment and physical dysfunctions manifests in the physical, mental or emotional layer of our being. Each energy center also houses our mental and emotional strengths. When we have a physical issue, it creates weaknesses in our emotional behavior. When we release the stale energy from the body, it can undo any tightness, stiffness, or malfunction of that area.
The Solar Plexus is located in the hollow area between the ribs and is at the level of the stomach. The endocrine gland which it controls is the pancreas. It is connected to the element of Fire. It symbolizes our “Right to Act”. Our main issues for this Chakra are Power and Energy. The goals is that of vitality, strength of will, sense of purpose, and our effectiveness. The energy of the solar plexus also depicts personal power, being confident, responsible, reliable and is the center of self-esteem, willpower and self-discipline,
The energy of this chakra allows one to transform inertia into action and movement. It allows you to meet challenges and mover forward in life.
Our sense of self and self esteem originates in this chakra. If the solar Plexus chakra is blocked, then you likely feel a lack of self control, struggle with anxiety, depression and feelings of rejection and possibly wanting to blame others for certain aspects of your life and insecurity feelings.
The solar plexus houses both positive and negative lower emotions. Negative lower emotions include anger, irritation, hate, envy, greed, destructiveness, violence, cruelty, resentment, worry, anxiety, fear, selfishness, aggressiveness, abrasiveness, addiction etc. The positive characteristics and emotions in the Solar Plexus are courage, daring, strong drive, perseverance and the desire to win. Positive emotions include ambition, daring, perseverance, strength, righteous indignation, justice and fairness.
The Solar Plexus in metaphysical terms is known as the God center and the ‘I’ center, this is where the desire to win and succeed stems from. This is the spiritual center of confidence and intuition– making me believe, if we continually get good results from listening to our “gut” (our God center). we gain confidence!
One of the main causes of malfunctioning solar plexus is the harboring of negative emotions. The problem is further compounded by a stressful environment. The chakra is located close to the vital organs. The malfunctioning of the Solar Plexus chakra can cause problems in the organs nearest to the it– such as the gall bladder, heart and pancreas.
Negative emotions like anger and anxiety cause the energy body to destabilize, making the physical body vulnerable to all sorts of diseases. Continuous harboring of negative emotions can manifest as headache, glaucoma, asthma, diabetes, high cholesterol, gastric ulcer, hyper tension, arthritis, cancer, constipation and hyperthyroidism amongst others.
Parts of the consciousness associated with the solar plexus chakra include perceptions concerned with power, control, freedom, the ease with which one is able to be themselves – ease of being. Mental activity and the mental body is also associated with this chakra. The relationship a person has with fire, or the sun, can be seen to have its parallels in the person’s relationship with the parts of their consciousness.
The pancreas can be energized through the back Solar Plexus chakra. The Solar Plexus chakra also energizes the large and small intestines, appendix, lungs, heart and other parts of the body. The quality of blood, the cholesterol level and the condition of the heart is also affected.
The Solar Plexus is the spiritual state for physical and emotional strength and balance. Harnessing the energy of the solar plexus chakra means being proactive rather then reactive or inactive.Beings with excessive third chakra energy react to life circumstances, they have emotional outbursts and are often stressed out.Beings with blocked or deficient third chakra are passive and inactive – allowing life to pass by while they do nothing.Strong third chakra reflects the ability to move forward in life with confidence and power. It reflects the ability to make conscious choices to choose and to act.The overall message of the third chakra is– You have the power to choose.
The gut is known as the second brain because it controls our mental and emotional states. It has over 100 million neurons which respond to potential dangers and the nerves in your gut are responsible for giving us our gut instincts and subconsciously tell us how to react to our environments.
Technically known the enteric nervous system, the second brain consists of sheaths of neurons embedded in the walls of the long tube of our gut, our alimentary canal, which measures about 9 meters from the esophagus to the anus. The second brain has more then 100 million neurons. The multitude of neurons in the enteric nervous system allows us to ”feel” our internal world of intuition and inner knowing.
A deeper understanding of our ‘gut” is that it is much more then neural tissue does much more then digestion. The little brain that resides in our gut is connected with the one that is inside our skull, because it partly determines our mental and emotional state– as well as play key roles in certain diseases.
Spiritual/ Psychological imbalances combinded with modern fast paced lifestyles, processed foods, refined sugar, chronic stress, the use of medications and regular exposures to chemicals kills off good bacteria making bad bacteria thrive. Struggling with digestive issues is a very common problem in today’s society, and you can believe if you have a digestion disorder that it is linked to poor gut health. Over 75% of the immune system is reliant on gut health! Your gut acts like it’s very own eco-system made up of millions and billions of microorganisms which include over four hundred different species of bacteria.
It is those microorganisms which play a crucial role in not only digestion but metabolism and immunity, without these microorganisms your gut would not be able to break down or utilize the food for energy.
Understanding and Integrating the spiritual lessons of Letting go of anger and resentment is as much a part of the healing process as incorporating enzymes and clean eating.
